Vijaya Bashyam – President
Vijaya Bashyam is a Senior Technical Staff Member in IBM Software designing and developing business analytics software. She is also a known performance expert in retail applications. She is a recognized, often-sought leader, by customers and partners for guidance on key performance challenges to help customers expand to exponentially increasing commerce workloads She is a member of IBM’s Open Innovation Community and Academic Ambassador to universities in MA and NH. She educates and judges many STEM projects with schools and colleges worldwide. Recently she has been mentoring many student projects using AI/AR technologies.
Vijaya received her BS in Electrical Engineering from the Anna University, India and her MS in Electrical Engineering from University of Massachusetts Lowell. She is an active member of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) and holds the President role for the Southern New Hampshire SWE section. She is also an active contributor in her town’s community activities and an avid mentor in SWE, SWENext, Grace Hopper and those re-entering workforce. In her free time, she learns Sanskrit an ancient Indian language, teaches cultural programs in Bharathi Vidhyashram of NH and plays Veena a stringed instrument,
Carolyn Hajdusek – Vice President
Carolyn Hajdusek is a recent hire as a deputy manager in the Electronic Systems Sector at BAE Systems. Her primary role responsibilities are to work directly with engineering and technical managers by leading an experienced group of precision strike business area engineers. Carolyn started her career with Raytheon as an intern in 2013 and later accepted a full-time position in 2015 supporting the SI&T directorate. Carolyn held a variety of leadership roles over the last 11+ years. She stays active with mentoring efforts, SWE and employee resource groups.
Carolyn grew up in Northfield, NH and pursued her B.S. in Electrical Engineering at Western New England University. She later went on to complete her M.S. in Engineering Management from Tufts University.
Jeffrey Brody – Treasurer
Jeff Brody is retired from IBM where he was Program Director for Faculty Awards for the IBM Global University Programs for IBM Corporation. He brings over 30 years of experience managing and preparing budgets.
A longtime member and supporter of SWE, Jeff served a three-year term as a Trustee for the Society of Women Engineers. The SWE Trustees manage all investments for the Society. He also served as chair of the audit committee for one year. Jeff is in the unique position of understanding SWE financial strategy, fiduciary responsibility and is passionate about supporting SWE-SNH. He is presently serving as SWE SNH’s Treasurer.
Kim Zimmerman – Secretary
Kim is currently the Strategic Missiles Systems Engineering Section Lead at BAE Systems. Since joining BAE in 2019, Kim has worked on the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) Program as a Quality Manager, Program Manager and Failure Review Board Manager supporting development, production and sustainment life cycle. Kim previously held engineering roles at L3 Harris and New Hampshire Ball Bearings.
Kim has been heavily involved in SWE since she graduated Clarkson University. She has held several SWE positions including: Member at Large Representative,
